The GE Bedroom Phone is 3 great products in one. First, it's a corded phone with Call Waiting Caller ID. Second, it's a fully functioning dual alarm clock. Third, it's an AM / FM radio.

4 out of 5 stars Bedroom phone   July 5, 2010
Her Grace (Willowbrook, IL)
A long standing clock-radio-phone that I had finally gave out. I looked all over for a replacement and hit on this. It is very easy to set up, program and use.

If there is any downside it is that it is rather strange looking, but I can live with that.

There is a phone, with caller ID, last number redial and the usual nine speed dial positions, a stereo AM/FM radio of acceptable sound quality. two alarm clocks, a snooze button, and (surprisingly) a telephone volume control. That is important to me as I have hearing issues. It also has an LCD time display with variable brightness control.

I'd say that if you don't mind its black brick-like appearance, it is a very good buy.

2 out of 5 stars Not real happy   July 1, 2010
Carol Clarke
Just received this today and noticed the price is now several dollars lower than when I ordered it about a week ago. That's nothing to do with the phone itself, but it's not a good feeling.

A worse feeling is when the product description is wrong. It says the battery backup keeps the clock and radio running. Well, you can't see the display of the clock, although they're probably technically correct on that one. However, the radio on mine will not work when I unplug it. I never listen to a radio except when the power is out, so I'm very unhappy about that. That feature is the only reason I bought a phone with a radio.

The numbers and letters on the handset are hard to read, probably not entirely because of their size. My vision isn't perfect, but I've never had trouble reading the numbers when dialing a phone before. There is not much contrast of color between the numbers and the background and I think that's the main reason. Also the backlighting (which is dim anyway) doesn't help. Matter of fact, I at first thought there was no backlighting because it arrived in the afternoon and I couldn't tell it was lighted until later in the day.

It's awkward to pick up the whole phone, unlike my old traditional style phone. Seems to be no handle niche to grab. And I have a hard time getting the handset back into the cradle properly when I hang up.

The caller id display is hard for me to read because of the dim lighting. Increasing the contrast only makes it worse because that shows all kinds of other letters and numbers that aren't being used. I don't consider the display large, either. On the other hand, the clock display is so huge that it looks silly to me.

Since I only just received it, I may find it easier to use as time goes by, provided I keep it.

3 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price   June 14, 2010

Aside from poor radio reception and quality of sound this isn't too bad for the price.

4 out of 5 stars Basically Good   June 5, 2010
CF (Ma)
The alarms are a bit hard to see, but I have the knack now.
The phone hangs up poorly, really need to make sure it is on the base. (Always a good idea). LOVE the huge display.

4 out of 5 stars Good Product, smaller phone   April 26, 2010
Perry Lundon
Product seemes to be well built, nice size clock numbers, smallish phone and cords that could be a bit longer. Generally pleased with purchase.
