Our LED Panel Desk Lamp uses an electronic ballast to stop power drain when you turn off the lamp. This superior design meets the latest energy standards. Most LED desk lamps are made with cheap conventional adapters, which use almost as much energy when the lamp is turned off as when it is turned on. A typical LED Desk Lamp uses 8 watts even when it's off while ours only uses 0.40 watts! Electronic ballast consumes less than ½ watt when turned off, unlike other LED adapter-powered lamps. Meets the California Energy Commission updated standards for power consumption of external power supplies, dated 1-1-2008, for both active and no-load mode (full Class IV compliance.) On/off switch on underside of lamp head. Bright, beautiful natural white light at 5,000° Kelvin. Heavy base for stability. Extremely low heat generation and power consumption. Save money and save power with this truly environmentally friendly LED desk lamp.

This nice looking, well designed LED flat-panel Desk/Task lamp puts out plenty of useful light. It uses older style "cold" colored LEDs, vs. the newer, warmer-colored LEDs, but provides plenty of light output which most people should find a good alternative to incandescent.
