Looks amazing July 27, 2010 Vivek Tiwari (Manalapan, NJ USA) Not much to say, after all its just a table lamp! But one hell of a table lamp. A table lamp that makes you keep looking at it. Its love at first sight. Small, portable, spotless and cute, yes it is cute!
And the person who designed it must be a man/woman who is habitual of using common sense. It takes small bulb, has perforations so that lil light could filter out from its hood and would provide just enough to make room commutable. Perfect for reading novels or while working on laptop. Comes with a bulb.
More like 3.5 stars June 21, 2010 J. Cazares 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This lamp does exactly what it is meant to do, provide just enough light for a workspace or bedside. I like to work into the night and don't like overhead lights because they prevent me from sleeping when it comes time to finally go to bed. Working with a smaller lamp that gives off light just where I need it to be allows me to get work done and not feel like I just stepped out of a bright light when it comes time to wrap up and hit the sack. The lamp also allows me to read a few pages of a book before bed at night, which I never really did before because of my "aversion" to bright overhead light. It's also glossy and pleasing to look at.
Keep in mind it doesn't use a conventionally sized light bulb, so you might want to stock up on one or two extra for the future so you have an immediate replacement when the bulb that's included with the lamp inevitably burns out.
I reserve 4 and 5 stars for items that tend to surpass my expectations, but this lamp doesn't. That's why the title says "3.5 stars" It's a good, functional lamp that does just what I need it to do and that's good enough for me.
Normande 40W Desk Lamp May 2, 2010 David R. Kerr (New Albany, IN USA) Pretty much what I expected when I ordered it. The neck could be more flexible, but otherwise seems like a good buy.
Non-standard bulb March 4, 2010 Savvy Shopper (Nashville, TN) I bought this intending to put a "grow light" bulb in it for some seeds I was starting. I'm obviously not familiar with the various designations for bulb types but did click on the link for the bulb and it appeared to be a standard bulb. Plus another reviewer mentioned trying a CFL bulb in it. Sadly, it takes a smaller size than a standard bulb, so I was unable to use it for its intended purpose. Since I didn't want to pay for shipping to return, we will keep it to use when my toddler needs a reading lamp by his bed.
Did not work March 3, 2010 M. Amador 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The lamp looks great. However, the lamp does not work. I though that perhaps the first one was just a defective item or maybe damaged in transit, so I asked for it to be exchanged for another lamp. When I received the second one, it did not work either. Maybe it was just my bad luck, but that's my story and I am sticking to it.
