Finally found one... July 27, 2010 P-Dub I had one of these stapless staplers given to me about 5 years ago when I started working. I have since searched forever to try and find one as the one I had is pretty old and doesn't work all the time. These (I bought 2) are the coolest! They work like a champ, paper folds neat every time.
Staple free stapler..sort of works May 28, 2010 Water Girl (Oregon) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well, it wasn't the "Made by humans" brand that was listed but it looks and operates the same. It will hold 2-3 pages and comes apart well--almost too well as the pages don't always stay together when you want them to. Overall I'd say its more of a novelty product than functional. It will not replace your stapler ;( but does work for some things.
Cute, light-duty stapler May 23, 2010 ZuluQueen This stapler should only be used for casual stapling, meaning it shouldn't be a big deal if the papers you choose to staple together fall apart. Your best bet would be to use this stapler to put two papers together, max. Three or more sheets, and they will more than likely fall apart, unless you are super gentle.
Push down hard enough to get the bit of paper all the way through the slot. The better you press, the more likely the sheets will stay together.
If you go on youtube, you will probably find a demonstration video so you can see how this works before you buy it.
The idea behind the stapler is very nice and eco-friendly. However, it is no substitute for a heavy-duty stapler that will staple together whole essays. I remember when my classroom didn't have a working stapler one day, so the teacher told us to fold the corners of our papers together. This stapler will give you a little more than this amount of strength, depending on how many sheets you staple.
I tried flapping two papers together, and if you flap furiously and long enough, the two sheets will come apart.
A disadvantage to this stapler is that if you put two papers together, and then want to replace one of them, it's very tricky. With a regular stapler, you remove the staple, rearrange the sheets, and staple again.
For an eco-friendly stapler, this product deserves five stars. For a stapler, period, it deserves less.
I wouldn't pay more than 10 dollars for this. At any rate, even if you have no practical use for it, this stapler will look adorable on your desk. It has a hip, sleek, modern look, especially if you get it in silver, which I did. You can buy it for its looks alone; it's the perfect office eye-candy accessory.
disappointed with staplet May 19, 2010 John Weise (Ann Arbor, MI USA) Unfortunately the "staple" is weak enough even with just two papers that as soon as you look at the second page the papers come apart. I was hoping for a better grip. I wouldn't buy this stapler if I had the chance again.
Cool concept -- just make sure you're using correctly April 9, 2010 The Networker it's a cool concept, really, but don't make the mistake of sticking the page corners into the "stapler" or you'll end up with a chewed up corner. You must "staple" by sticking a flat edge into the stapler... then it works great. Definitely won't staple many pages, but perfect for a few... and is great for what I needed it for!
